Coffee beans with different types of roast

Our Coffee

Legacy Blend is a 100% pure coffee blend of the best quality Arabica and Robusta beans. Full bodied with strong notes of chocolate, this blend is perfect for those looking for a pure coffee experience.

Staying true to our South Indian coffee roots, Brindavan Bold has a perfect 80:20 ratio of coffee and chicory. Premium quality coffee beans and chicory form this blend has been perfected over generations.

If you’ve always consumed coffee with chicory, it might seem crazy to remove it and vice versa. All we’re saying is that coffee is not defined by the presence of chicory, it’s the method of brewing that creates the magic.

If you usually buy Brindavan Bold,  give our no chicory Legacy Blend a try. And if you’re a coffee purist, dip your toes in a bit of chicory and let us know what you think!

Let’s bust the myth with chicory. Chicory is a woody, herbaceous plant in the dandelion family. Chicory powder is made from drying and roasting the root of the chicory plant. Extensively grown in Gujarat, chicory is widely used in south India to blend with coffee.

Naturally caffeine free, chicory is a great addition to coffee. Not only does it reduce caffeine intake, it also gives the south Indian filter coffee its signature deep dark colour and a thick decoction. Chicory dissolves in water, making the decoction thicker. The resulting brew is richer in colour and creamier in texture. And of course a more earthy taste to it.

Propagating the idea that chicory is only added to coffee for a ‘cost benefit’ is not only incorrect but it also grossly undervalues the power of a regional palate.

At the end of the day it really comes down to an acquired taste. Our coffee mantra – you do you!

Absolutely yes! The decoction can be used in a variety of other coffee styles. Add hot water to make an Americano, some foamed/steamed milk to enjoy Latte or ice cubes to make a delicious Iced Coffee. The possibilities are endless. You can follow Mysore Concerns on Instagram where we regularly share coffee recipes.

Grind sizes are meant to be different for different brewing methods. Broadly divided, coffee is either grounded coarse, medium or fine. Extra coarse to coarse grind sizes are usually for cold brews and French Press. Pour overs and Machine drips use medium grinds. Medium fine grinds are best suited for Moka Pot and South Indian Filter.  Espresso machines use fine grind.

You should buy the grind size compatible with your preferred brewing method. Simply select your brewing method at our product page and we will ensure to grind it accordingly.

At Mysore Concerns, we use Mahlkönig grinders to give our coffee a consistent grind.

It’s important to store coffee the right way. Incorrectly stored coffee can have an impact on flavour and shelf life. Store your coffee in an airtight container. If stored in a transparent contained, keep  away from sunlight, in a cool dark place.

Do not store your coffee in the fridge to avoid condensation and moisture.

At Mysore Concerns, we grind coffee everyday from Tuesday to Saturday. Roasted beans are rested for 48 to 70 hours to develop flavours. Freshly ground coffee is sealed immediately at its peak fresh state.
