Our story

A coffee house shaped by time

For generations, we have believed great coffee begins with patience, good people and a respect for the craft.

Legacy, Brewed Since 1939

When freshly roasted coffee was still rare beyond South India, Mysore Concerns began with a simple purpose: to bring Indian-grown coffee into Bombay homes. As the city found its rhythm, our coffee found its place in morning rituals, family kitchens, and habits passed down through generations. Through every change, it has remained familiar, dependable, and deeply rooted.

The Third Generation at Mysore Concerns

Growing with care

Shruti Shrikant and Shweta Shrikant, third-generation coffee roasters, carry Mysore Concerns forward.

They grew up around coffee - the smell of freshly roasted beans, the quiet work behind the counter, and stories of how their father and grandfather built the brand, one patron at a time. For them, Mysore Concerns is not simply a legacy to inherit, but one to care for and keep relevant.

Their presence marks continuity rather than change. A new chapter, written with the same warmth and attention that has defined Mysore Concerns for generations.

"We grew up with coffee as something instinctive, generous and shared. Today, it can feel surrounded by rules, terminology and chemistry. Our vision is to make coffee less intimidating for you while preserving our craft. Brewing coffee can be extraordinary and still feel wonderfully simple"

Our journey

One Roastery, Three Generations

1939 - 1960s: From First Roast to Familiar Name

In 1939, Mr. G.V. Venkatram founded Mysore Concerns after moving from Gargeshwari to Bombay. He sourced coffee from Karnataka and roasted it by hand over an open fire. By the 1950s and 60s, coffee roasted by “Ram” had become a familiar part of South Indian homes across the city.

1970s - 2021: Growing with Care

The second generation, led by Mr. Shrikant Venkatram with the support of his wife Subhadra, modernised the roasting and grinding processes, sourced beans through India Coffee Board auctions, and expanded Mysore Concerns across Maharashtra. The business grew steadily, without losing the consistency people had come to trust.

Late 2010s - Present: A New Chapter

Shruti Shrikant and Shweta Shrikant joined the family business in 2017. Today, they carry it forward with a wider range of traditional filter blends, 100% coffees & single-estate offerings, while keeping home brewing approachable. Shrikant & Daughters Coffee Company, launched in 2025, is the modern roasting facility powering the brand’s next chapter.

Uncomplicating Coffee

Coffee has gathered layers over time - technique, terminology, and expectation.

At Mysore Concerns, we believe that while coffee can be complex, enjoying it doesn’t need to be. Our approach is shaped by decades of listening to how people actually drink coffee at home.

We take care of the details, so coffee can remain what it’s meant to be - a simple, everyday pleasure.

Craft and authority

There Is No One Right Cup

Across Indian homes, coffee finds its own rhythm. It is measured by instinct, brewed by habit, and remembered by taste. Strong and milky in one kitchen, clean and black in another. Blended with chicory or traced to a single estate. Our range makes room for every cup, and every way of calling it your own.
