King’s Roast was created as a more elevated take on the filter coffee style Mysore Concerns has been known for over generations.
Its unique composition allows the coffee itself to come forward with greater nuance while still retaining the richness and character of a traditional filter coffee.
For us, it represents the next chapter of a familiar ritual: rooted in the way we have always made coffee, but shaped for how people enjoy it today.
Inspired By King’s Circle, Matunga
King’s Roast is named after King’s Circle, the neighbourhood Mysore Concerns has called home for generations.
The packaging brings together details that are closely tied to Matunga. A map of the neighbourhood forms the backdrop, while the name board takes its cue from Mumbai’s local train signage, a visual language that is instantly familiar across the city.
At the centre is the Pukari, or flower seller in Tamil, surrounded by marigolds and jasmine. It is a nod to the many flower vendors who line Matunga’s streets and are such a recognisable part of the neighbourhood.
Together, these elements make the pack a tribute to the place King’s Roast is named after, and to the everyday details that give Matunga its character.
